QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

A Quincy woman charged in connection with her child's drowning death failed to appear in court Wednesday, according to the Adams County State's Attorney's Office.

The state's attorney's office reported Janifer Doellman didn't show for a plea hearing scheduled at 11:30 a.m. Because of the no-show, the state's attorney's office said a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Doellman was charged last year with felony child endangerment after her 18-month-old son drowned in a pool in their backyard. The incident happened July 27, 2016 at 606 Jackson St.

Court documents stated Doellman was sleeping when her son got into the pool. Police said the boy was found unresponsive and was pronounced dead at Blessing Hospital.

Doellman was charged the following September.
