Police arrested two people after officers found a sawed-off shotgun and meth during the search of a Quincy home.

Chad Neisen, 27, and Ashley Kramer, 30, both of Quincy, were charged with possession of methamphetamine.  Neisen was also charged with possession of a firearm with barrel shorter than 18 inches.

The firearm charge is a Class 3 felony that carries the possibility of a two to five year prison sentence, according to Adams County State's Attorney Gary Farha.

The Quincy Police Department and the West Central Illinois Task Force executed a search warrant at Neisen's home at 700 Ashley Ave. at 3:34 p.m. Thursday.

"It's a volatile situation when a shot gun and drugs are both involved," Farha said.  "It gets more attention than the average meth case."
