Traffic stop leads to meth arrest

Wear Wear

A Quincy man was arrested late Sunday night on a meth charge, authorities said.

In a news release, Illinois State Police Lt. Brian Anderson stated Paul Wear, 37, was pulled over for a traffic violation at 18th and Elm. He stated the stop was part of an ongoing drug investigation.

Anderson stated a search was prompted by a positive alert by the K-9.

Authorities found meth and drug paraphernalia on Wear, according to Anderson. He stated Wear was taken to the Adams County Jail.

Court records show Wear was charged Monday with possession of meth.
