Quincy elementary school vandalized

A Quincy elementary school was broken into and vandalized over the weekend, according to a school official.

Quincy Public School Superintendent Roy Webb said Adams Elementary was broken into sometime Saturday or Sunday. He said a fire extinguisher and cans of soda were sprayed in the teacher's lounge.

"Police are investigating it now," Webb said. "There's no cameras in the teacher's lounge, but (police) do think they know where they got in."

Webb said as of Monday, it didn't appear anything was actually stolen. He said the district was notifying teachers to let them know about the situation and ask that they check their belongings to ensure nothing was taken.

Webb did not have an estimate on damage costs.
