PALMYRA, Mo. (WGEM) -

The Marion County Fair continued in Palmyra, Missouri Sunday, and there was a very special event for a youth organization.

Children ages 5 to 18 got to show off their projects to judges. They include everything from robotics, clothing, to even animals.

4-H Youth Specialist Stephanie Femrite said the children put a lot of hard work into their crafts.

"They're learning to belong through their clubs," she said. "4-H would not be successful without the strong network of volunteers."

Femrite said the children are challenged even more during the interview process.

"When they have the opportunity to explain what they've learned, that helps them really internalize what they've learned and what they've done by verbalizing it," she said. "That's versus just making an item and putting it on display. Having a conversation about what they've learned, what they did, and what they'd try again differently next time."

Femrite said selected projects will head to the Missouri State Fair in ten days. For more on the 4-H events happening throughout the week, visit the Marion County Fair's website.
