Former C-SC student accused in gun incident gets probation

Webber Webber

A former Culver-Stockton College student accused of pulling a gun on another student on campus last year was sentenced to probation Monday, according to court records.

Records show Maxwell Webber was sentenced to five years of probation. He also received seven years in prison, but that sentence was suspended.

Webber, who the C-SC athletic director said was a freshman on the football and track teams at the time, was arrested last November. Authorities said Webber pulled a semi-automatic handgun on another man in a parking lot near the fieldhouse.

The campus was then placed on lockdown.

Police said the victim identified Webber, which led them to his dorm room where they arrested him nearly three hours after the incident.

Records show Webber was initially charged with unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action. They show Webber pleaded guilty in June to felonious restraint.
