BUSHNELL, Ill. (WGEM) -

Authorities in McDonough County reported two Bushnell, Illinois, residents were arrested Friday on meth-related charges.

McDonough County Sheriff Rick VanBrooker stated police were called Friday to Bushnell Library Park at 2:30 p.m. for a report of an argument. He said officers then made contact with Ezra B. Cook, 18, and William P Hyde, 37.

VanBrooker stated they determined Hyde had an outstanding warrant out of Mason County.

According to VanBrooker, officers recovered a pipe, muriatic acid, ammonia nitrate icepacks and lithium batteries from a bag carried by Cook. He said they also recovered a bottle of Lye that Cook hid in a book inside the library.

VanBrooker stated a pill bottle with pseudoephedrine was found in possession of Hyde at the McDonough County Jail.

He stated Cook and Hyde were charged with unlawful procurement of methamphetamine precursors and possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material.
