LEE COUNTY, Ia. (WGEM) -

After a failed vote to combine the two county courthouses, officials in Lee County are now looking at how to improve the buildings.

At the South Lee County courthouse in Keokuk, the board approved a project to improve the bricks on the outside of the building.

Supervisor Gary Folluo said the project will cost $310,000 with Midwest Construction and added that this is just one of many projects that need to get done.

"It's monumental to get the tuck pointing done," Folluo said. "The clock tower has been an issue in the past and it will be good to get that portion done."

The next project that will be up for approval is the roof. Folluo said a vote will come on that bid on August 29 .

He hope both projects will be finished by the end of the year.
