Industry man arrested on meth charges

Strader Strader

An Industry, Illinois, man was arrested Monday on meth charges after a traffic stop, according to the McDonough County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Rick VanBrooker said a vehicle was stopped for speeding on 600th Road, in the area of 2150 East, at 5:30 p.m. During the stop, VanBrooker said the deputy "observed indications of criminal behavior and obtained a consent to search the vehicle."

VanBrooker said the passenger, Montana V. Strader, 26, had a small amount of cannabis and a pipe on him. He said the deputy also found meth hidden in a cup of coffee.

According to VanBrooker, an investigation indicated the meth belonged to Strader, and he planned to distribute it in McDonough County.

Strader was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) under 5 grams and possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine under 5 grams, according to VanBrooker.
