QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

Thursday was opening night for a Tri-State tradition.

The Knights of Columbus BBQ in Quincy is underway. Families from all over the Tri-States area enjoyed grilled food and amusement rides with armband night. This is the Knights of Columbus's largest fundraiser. The money goes towards towards ultrasound services at Birthright of Quincy, a crisis pregnancy center.

People who came out said it's a fun time with friends right before school starts.

"All my friends get together we have a great time riding rides and eating food," Carson Etter said.

"I think it's a fun place to be with your family or with your friends and it's just a fun way to end off your summer," Sam Hilbing said.

There are new rides at the carnival this year and the K of C BBQ runs through Sunday.
