Driver, three passengers injured in ATV crash


Authorities say an ATV crash Monday night near Canton, Missouri, injured the driver and three passengers.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report, the crash happened at 7:15 p.m. on Route P, about a 1/2 mile west of Canton.

The report stated Jacob Taff, 23, of Canton, was driving a 2012 Polaris Ranger when it hit a pothole and he lost control of the vehicle. It stated the ATV overturned and ejected two passengers.

The passengers, according to the report, were Tracy Gordon, 23, Tanner Whitt, 21, and Kayla Williams, 19, all of Monroe City, Missouri. It did not specify which two people were ejected.

The report stated all four were taken by ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy with moderate injuries.

According to the report, Taff and Williams were utilizing safety devices, while Whitt and Gordon were not.

The Lewis County Sheriff's Office, Canton Police Department, Canton Fire and Rescue and Canton first responders assisted at the scene, according to the crash report.
