Hannibal search warrant nets two arrests

The Hannibal Police Department reported two residents were arrested Monday following the execution of a search warrant.

In a news release, Lt. John Zerbonia stated the search warrant was executed at 1:09 p.m. in the 400 block of North 8th. Zerbonia stated during the search, officers found a firearm, substances believed to be heroin and marijuana, items consistent with the distribution of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. 

Zerbonia stated Devontae D. Ecford, 25, of Hannibal, was arrested for possession with the intent to distribute, felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon, two Missouri state warrants for traffic violations and a City of Hannibal warrant for failing to comply with court orders.

Dashawn Eaves, 20, of Hannibal, was also arrested, according to Zerbonia. He stated Eaves was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

Zerbonia reported Eaves was released pending prosecutor review. He said Ecford was taken to the Marion County Jail on a 24-hour hold.
