QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

Quincy University and Dot Foods are joining forces to help victims of Hurricane Harvey.

They're collecting items that will be needed as the recovery process continues. Starting Monday, through Sept. 15, you can drop off your donations from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Quincy University's parking lot C, at 18th and Elm streets in the Dot Foods trailer.

"We're looking for non-perishable items like peanut butter, as well as toiletry items like shampoo, toothpaste, tooth brushes," QU spokesperson Matt Bergmann said. "We're also challenging local schools to collect school supplies. That's kind of a third part of the collection, to get school supplies - send them to Texas as well."

Items collected will be transported by Dot Foods to Catholic Charities in Texas where they will be distributed to hurricane victims.
