A Missouri man was recently sentenced following his conviction for sexual abuse of his daughters, according to the attorney general.

Attorney General Josh Hawley said in a news release that Kevin Tillitt, 47 of Shelbina, was sentenced to 135 years in prison.

The release stated Tillitt was found guilty by an Adair County jury on July 14 of this year on four counts of statutory sodomy first degree, two counts of statutory rape first degree and one count of child molestation first degree stemming from acts involving two children when the victims were ages 4 to 15.

Hawley said the victims disclosed years of sodomy and rape along with abuse with a butter knife, stuffed toys and forced acts with a dog.

The release stated Tillitt's wife, Melinda Tillitt, was sentenced in November to 90 years in prison for independently molesting the children, including forcing their heads under water for compliance.

“My office is dedicated to prosecuting those who prey upon our most vulnerable,” Hawley states in the release. “I am grateful to law enforcement and our prosecutors for ensuring that this man will no longer harm his children.

"Shelby County is safer because of it,” Hawley stated.

In the Kevin Tillitt case, the release stated Judge Russell Steele handed out 20 years consecutive on the statutory accounts for a total of 120 years and added the maximum 15 additional years on the molestation charges.

The case was investigated by the Shelbina Police Department and tried by Shelby County Prosecuting Attorney Jordan Force and Assistant Attorney General Monty Platz, according to the release.
