2 Adams Co. residents arrested on meth charges

ADAMS COUNTY, Ill. (WGEM) -

Authorities said two Adams County residents suspected of trafficking meth from Missouri into Illinois were arrested this week.

In a news release, West Central Illinois Task Force M/Sgt. Patrick Frazier stated surveillance was conducted on Jennifer L. Daugherty, 37, of Mendon, and Dustin Parson, 31, who was reported homeless. He said the investigation resulted in a traffic stop by the Quincy Police Departments K-9 Unit at approximately 11:40 p.m. at 2nd and Maine streets in Quincy. 

The release stated the two were observed by officers entering Illinois from Missouri and were found to be in possession of 50 or more grams of Methamphetamine ICE during a search of the vehicle and persons. 

Daugherty was arrested on the charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver 15-100 grams, according to the release.

The release stated Parson was arrested on the charge of unlawful possession of methamphetamine less than 5 grams. It said both were transported to the Adams County Jail. 

Police stated the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
