On Saturday, reenactors are depicting life in the 1800s during Frontier Settlement Day in Quincy.

The event includes games for kids, wool spinning, a store with artifacts and a mock school where kids learn like students did in the 1800s.

It's at the log cabin village on Quinsippi island. While this event is free, the Friends of the Log Cabins Association is hoping for donations.

"Preserve for future generations and that's what we are trying to do, and we have this event,"  John Gebhardt, President of the Friends of the Log Cabins Association said. "This is our 9th annual (event) to get people down here to see what kind of resource this is and how valuable it is."

Gebhardt said the money raised helps restore the log cabins. Frontier Settlement Day is Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
