ADAMS COUNTY, Ill. (WGEM) -

The Adams County Sheriff's Office said several burglary reports came in early Friday morning near Quincy.

The burglaries reported were located in the Lancaster Lane area, which is southeast of Quincy.  Authorities said they believed the burglaries happened between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. Friday morning.

They said the criminals broke into garages and got into unlocked cars inside.

Residents in the area say the thieves made off with tools and Christmas presents, among other things.

"At 2:00 in the morning my dog came and was anxious and wanted me to get up so I thought he needed to go outside," said Quincy Homeowner Lynn Wright. "I went to the front door, put his collar on, turned the light on and when I opened up the front door I saw three individuals walking towards our house with hoodies, backpacks, and one had a grocery sack. I was stunned."

Wright lives off of Lancaster Lane and says nothing was stolen from her house, but her neighbors weren't so lucky.

No arrests have been reported.
