PIKE COUNTY, Mo. (WGEM) -

The search is set to resume Thursday morning for two Tri-State men who went missing in the Mississippi River in Pike County, Missouri.

Commercial fishermen Earl Fogle, 53 of Saverton, Missouri, and David Hultz of Quincy were reported missing Tuesday night.

Crews searched Tuesday night and most of Wednesday around the DuPont boat launch, near Ashburn, Missouri.

Pike County Deputy Sheriff Chad Perkins said the search was called off for the day around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Perkins said several boats from both Missouri and Illinois were on the water along with helicopters.

Perkins said they had resources as far north as Saverton, Missouri, and as far south as Clarksville, Missouri. He said they were searching in every creek off of the Mississippi and in every cove on the river.

Many of the searchers we're fellow fishermen, like Scott Tatman. "I fished a little bit with him, but not like all these other people that are here that are out searching right now. There's people that fished with Earl every day," Tatman said.

Perkins said the search team had located a boat underwater and would call in a dive team to investigate on Thursday. It wasn't clear if the boat belonged to the missing men.
