QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

Local art aficionados spent Friday night honoring some of the animals that we hold near and dear to our heart.

The Quincy Art Center hosted its opening reception for the Flaunting Felines, and Framed Fidos exhibits.

Around 100 pieces of art from artists throughout the community are featured at the exhibit.

The Quincy Humane Society also joined in on the fun, and had cats available for adoption.

"Whenever community organizations especially non-profits can partner to enrich our community, it is a benefit." Lana Reed with the Quincy Art Center said. "Cats and Dogs also have been a source of inspiration throughout the ages."

If you weren't able to make it to the art center Friday night, you can still see the exhibits.

Flaunting Felines runs through June 22nd, and Framed Fidos runs through June 9th.
