It was cause for celebration at Quincy's Reservoir Park Sunday afternoon as the Quincy Tennis Association held its annual Tennis Fest.
Tennis players of all age got to hit the courts but that wasn't all. Because Sunday's Tennis Fest marked the end of a two-year-long, $41 thousand renovation of Reservoir Park to resurface courts, add benches and add new fencing along the courts. Now, QTA members are happy to see their home court shine.
"This is wonderful because I've been around Reservoir Park since I was 10 years old and I am not 10 anymore," laughed QT board member Monica Hinkamper.
"For many years I have watched the stages of this grow. We have come together to do this right and we're so grateful."
All the money received was raised through donations. Next up, the Quincy Tennis Association plans on raising more funds to resurface the park's sidewalks.
