Lesley Van Ness anchors WGEM News at 5, 6 and 10. Lesley was born and raised in the Tri-States.
Lesley grew up in Elvaston, a small town in Hancock County. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1999.
From there, Lesley went on to pursue a mass communications degree at Illinois State University. While at ISU, Lesley worked at the campus television station where she anchored, reported, and produced for a live daily newscast.
Lesley spent the summer of 2003 as an intern with WGEM. After graduating ISU with honors, she returned to Quincy to start her journalism career as a reporter. She then went on to become weekend anchor, before taking over the weekly nightside newscasts.
Lesley is thrilled her start as an intern led her to where she is today. "I'm so proud to be a part of such a great team of people. I'm extremely lucky to be able to do what I love every day, right here in the Tri-States where I grew up."
When she's not busy at work, Lesley enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She and her husband enjoy boating, hitting the golf course and traveling.
