QUINCY (WGEM) - Despite missions being put on hold, the Great River Honor Flight is still getting donations from the local community.

The North River Old Iron Club brought in more than $3,600 during their 7th Annual Tractor Parade back on June 6.

The run took 50 tractors from Hull, Illinois, to Hannibal and back.

In total, the Club has raised more than $20,000donate to the Great River Honor Flight.

It’s something organizers say is absolutely heartwarming.

“I’ve been out there twice and the emotions that the veterans have is just awesome to see,” said Billy Powell of the North River Old Iron Club.

Meanwhile, The Honor Flight board said they continue to monitor the guidance and protocol and will schedule flights again once they know the experience will be a safe one for local veterans.
