MONTROSE, Iowa (WGEM) - The Montrose City Council election will be decided by a draw, according to Lee County Auditor Denise Fraise.

The top three candidates in the race will be elected.

Mark Holland had 51 votes, Tony Sciumbato took in 49 votes, and the other two candidates tied.

Emma Rubey and incumbent Kent Rubey, who said they are father and daughter and are registered under the same address, are tied with 37 votes each.

Fraise said the election code states a tie must be decided by a draw. The draw will be done by the Board of Supervisors at a meeting next Monday in Fort Madison.
