QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -The prep pigskin fans in Missouri are in for a treat on this first “Football Friday Night” of November as Hannibal, Monroe City, Bowling Green, South Shelby, Mark Twain, Highland, and Knox County, all return to action at 7 p.m. The MSHSAA gridiron is set to heat up in Palmyra as well. That’s where the Panthers will play host to Macon. The game will make the second time this season the two squads have gone head-to-head.

The first time the two teams collided during the regular season, the “Orange and Black” posted a very impressive victory on the road. There is little doubt that the players at MHS remember that setback at home, and you can be sure the Tigers will be focused in on seeking a little “redemption” tonight in “The Flower City!

We’ll check in with Panthers head coach Kevin Miles for his thoughts regarding what Palmyra will have to do to post a win at home this evening to keep their 2021 season alive!

In The “Land Of Lincoln” prep football playoff action will resume on Saturday with (9-1) Camp Point Central traveling to face the Raiders of Central A&M. The Panthers are set to resume their post-season journey on the gridiron at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow.

The Raiders and Camp Point met earlier during Week 8 of the regular season with the Panthers rolling to a 30-point victory.

Brown County will be playing at home against Arcola on Saturday afternoon. The entire city of Mount Sterling may show up for this highly anticipated contest to show their support for the “Green and White” who pulled off a huge upset last week on the road. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. on the BC campus.

The Lady Raiders Of Quincy Notre Dame are headed to IHSA Super-Sectional action tonight on the prep volleyball hardwood in Clinton, Illinois in the Class 2-A ranks. We’ll have details on the team they’ll be facing plus we’ll have an update on the Lady Suns of Southeastern as well in Class 1A.
