QUINCY (WGEM) - The Great Lakes Valley Conference announced its men’s soccer postseason awards on Friday afternoon.  QND grad Aubrey Reis was selected to the third team along with teammates Alsadiq Hasan, Cole Hayes, and Jack Rhead.

This is the second consecutive season that Hasan has been named to the All-GLVC third team after earning the recognition during the 2021 spring season. The midfielder had two goals and three assists for a total of seven points which was fourth most on the team this season.

Hasan has a year of eligibility remaining but was honored during QU’s senior day in a game that was canceled against William Jewell. Hasan finished his career with six goals and eight assists in 46 career games while also serving as a team captain.

Cole Hayes earned All-GLVC third team honors for the second consecutive season as well. Hayes had seven goals and two assists this season in 14 games. Hayes led the team with 20 shots on goal and was second on the team in goals and points.

Hayes finished his four-year career with 62 games played and scored 13 of his 14 career goals in his final two seasons with the Hawks. Hayes played an instrumental role in the Hawks earning the No. 3 seed in the GLVC Tournament during the spring season by scoring five goals during a five-game stretch to end the regular season. Hayes and the Hawks won seven of its final eight games before having its season end in the GLVC semifinal against Maryville last spring.

Aubrey Reis finished his decorated career with the Hawks by reigning in another All-GLVC honor. Reis had four goals and three assists for a total of 11 points on the season. Reis’ three assists was tied for second most on the Hawks while he finished with the third most points on the team.

Reis also accumulated 1,337 minutes which was the second most on the team after starting in all 16 games for QU this season. Reis has had a storied career with the QU Hawks that has spanned over five seasons, including leading the team in scoring during his first four campaigns.

After scoring three goals as a redshirt freshman in 2017, Reis led the conference with 15 goals en route to a first team All-GLVC and a first team All-Region honor in the 2018 season. Reis is still the last Hawk to earn a first team All-Region honor since QU’s assistant coach Taylor Reis collected that honor in 2016.

In 2019, Aubrey was named to the All-GLVC second team and was named to the All-GLVC first team in the spring of 2021. This All-Conference honor is the fourth consecutive honor for the Quincy native.

Reis finished his career with 37 goals and 13 assists for a total of 87 points with eight game-winners and a perfect 10-10 mark on penalty kicks.

Quincy’s leading scorer this season, Jack Rhead, was also selected to the All-GLVC third team. Rhead started 13 games and scored eight goals while notching one assist on the season. Rhead paced the Hawks with two game-winning goals as well.

The Plymouth, UK native finished the season strong after scoring three goals in the team’s final four games of the season. This is the first All-GLVC honor for Rhead in his second season with QU. During the spring campaign, Rhead was third on the team with four goals and 11 points.

Sam Costa was the James R. Spalding Sportsmanship award honoree for the Hawks. Costa is from Chesterfield, Missouri and played in four games and totaled 126 minutes for the Hawks this season. His hard work and dedication to sportsmanship truly embodies what it means to be a Hawk.
