QUINCY (WGEM) - We have a storm system that is developing down around the panhandle of Oklahoma.

The storm will be running up to the Northeast right for the Tri-State area. As it approaches it will get a little bit on the gusty side and we’ll see the potential for some scattered showers develop Wednesday.

The best shot for showers comes overnight Wednesday night, we may hear a few rumbles of thunder in the overnight hours. We don’t expect this system to cause a washout but there will be measurable rain in the gauges.

The system wraps up quickly and we end up with some sunshine by the time we get into Friday morning. However significantly colder air rides in on the backside of the system right into the Tri-State area along with a very gusty northwest wind making Friday a rather raw day.

In the long-range we’re watching the potential for a mix of snow and rain this weekend. We will bring the latest information on the next newscast.
