QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - The Lady Suns of Southeastern made the most of their “business trip” to Redbird Arena this morning to the delight of longtime head volleyball coach Tim Kerr. The Lady Suns faced Springfield Lutheran in their IHSA Class 1A State Semifinal clash and rolled past the Lady Crusaders in two straight sets in Normal. The Lady Suns are now set to compete for a state championship Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m.

We’ll have game highlights from the state semi’s and a WGEM Sports Post-Game Report from Brendan Reidy from the campus of Illinois State University.

On the high school gridiron this evening, Porter Stadium in Hannibal will be rocking as the undefeated Pirates play host to Jeff City in the Class 4 District 5 Championship. HHS is (10-0) on the season while the visiting Jays check in with a (6-4) slate. The first time these two teams went head-to-head was back on September 3. Hannibal won that contest 40-13.

WGEM’s Jake Rongholt will have the latest on the “Red & Black” during our WGEM Sports Pre-Game Report from America’s Hometown.
