QUINCY (WGEM) - A group of high school students helped raise more than $5,000 for the school’s November food drive.

The check was presented Monday at Quincy Notre Dame to the Quincy Catholic Charities. The students, staff, family and even friends took part in the fundraising drive.

“We had three collection days this November where we asked students to bring in $5 for non-dress code day, and we were just really glad to give back to our community and help others,” said Lauren McDowell, a student at QND who helped raise the funds.

Quincy Catholic Charities Area Director Kevin Williams said the donation was one of the largest yet from the school and will help with food distribution during the holiday season.
