QUINCY (WGEM) - A high pressure system to our east will continue to move eastward. This will cause our winds to be out the south and it could get a little breezy this afternoon and evening. Gusts of 20-25 mph will be possible. Through the rest of the day, we’ll have a sunny to mostly sunny sky. You may just notice some upper-level thin clouds. The breezy winds and mostly sunny skies will help to draw in warmer air. Highs are expected to be in the low to mid 50s. By night, clouds will very gradually start to move into the area. Lows won’t be near as cold, as we’ll be in the low 40s. That’s up about 15-20 degrees from last night.

Wednesday, a low pressure system and cold front will be advancing towards the Tri-States. Before it arrives, it will push clouds in so we’ll be partly sunny then we’ll become mostly cloudy. It will be another breezy day also, but winds will shift a bit and will come out the southwest. Gusts of 20-30 mph will be possible. With the warmer start to the day and the breezy southwesterly winds, tomorrow will be even warmer. Highs will be in the upper 50s to near 60. Then, the cold front will arrive that evening/night.
