QUINCY (WGEM) -Temperatures warmed up Tuesday to above normal and that trend is going to continue on Wednesday. A gusty southerly wind Wednesday will usher in even warmer temperatures with highs running into the low 60s. All of this warm air is out ahead of a cold front that will slice through the area Wednesday night. There is not much moisture for this cold front to work with but we will keep light rain in the forecast overnight Wednesday night. Rain potential is looking pretty slim especially for anything measurable. As the cold front passes the wind will shift Wednesday night out of the west northwest still a bit on the breezy side gusting up to 25 miles per hour. The main thing this cold front will do is bring in much cooler temperatures. Expect daytime high temperatures on Thanksgiving day only up in the mid 30s that is about 10° below what is normal. If you are a Black Friday door buster and like to get out early, bundle up. We expect chilly temperatures Friday morning down into the teens in some locations. The weekend rebounds with temperatures on Saturday in the mid 50s and Sunday’s temperature is running about what is normal for this time of year.
