QUINCY (WGEM) - A Quincy holiday tradition, that has taken place since 1999, opens on Thursday.

WGEM caught up with Festival of lights organizers on Wednesday as they put the finishing touches on the display.

It will open up on Thanksgiving for the first night of the season at Moorman park.

President at the Festival of Lights, Eric Dooley, said you can drive through, and see old ad new displays like a 40-ft. wide candy factory, a toy factory, and even a sea adventure display.

“What we hear is that not only it has become apart of people’s family, and the tradition of going every year. But now, you have people from 1999 when it first started, over 20 years ago, that they came out when they were kids,” Dooley said.

The Festival of lights will be open starting Thursday at 5 p.m. From there, they will be open seven days a week, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., all the way up to New Year’s Day. The cost per car is $15.
