Shoppers out early looking for Black Friday deals

HANNIBAL (WGEM) - Black Friday is the official start to the holiday shopping season, and some local shoppers were out early looking for deals.

At Huck Finn Shopping Center in Hannibal, many shoppers out early said Black Friday shopping is an annual event for them.

Dunham’s Sporting Goods opened at 4:00 a.m. Workers said shoppers trickled in all morning. They said gun safes, ammo, and clothing were popular items among customers.

JCPenney opened its doors at 5:00 a.m. Early shoppers waited for the store to open in their cars, instead of at the door, due to the cold temperatures.

Customers said they were looking for deals on jewelry, socks, and blankets.
