Record or near-record high temperature
QUINCY (WGEM) -We have what would look like on the outside as a rather quiet week of weather. There are not any major storm systems rolling through the area to disrupt the day-to-day weather.
However we do have on our hands a rather exciting weather pattern. No rain to speak of, but wow, we have some temperatures that are well above normal heading into December.
Tuesday will be the coolest day of the week, and even then daytime high temperatures on Tuesday will be running about 10 degrees above what is normal.
Wednesday will be mostly sunny and wind flow continues out of the south. The southerly wind continues to pump the warm air into the Tri-States. We’re looking at a high temperature on Wednesday in the low 60s.
If that isn’t warm enough for yo, Thursday will be even warmer. The record high for Thursday is 67° set back at 1982. All indications are we will reach that if not eclipse that high temperature Thursday.
The warm air continues on Friday at 60° for a daytime high, but it does cool off for the weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday daytime high temperatures will be back toward more normal numbers, with a very limited potential for some scattered showers Saturday night into Sunday.
