QUINCY (WGEM) - A cold front pushed through the Tri-States earlier this morning. That front changed our winds around to the north/northwest. These winds are bringing in slightly cooler daytime highs. As we’ll be in the low to mid 50s. Satellite images continue to show some scattered high level clouds in the Tri-States. However, the clouds are already starting their move southward. As they move south, mostly sunny skies will be expected for the rest of the day.

A shortwave/kink in the atmosphere is expected to move into the region later tonight. This will increase clouds back into the area, leading to mostly cloudy skies. As this shortwave moves through, some light stray rain showers will be possible overnight. A few lingering sprinkles could even be possible tomorrow morning, mainly before 8/9 AM. However, if these showers can develop they won’t amount to much at all.

Then, another warm front will arrive tomorrow.
