QUINCY (WGEM) - That warmer weather enticed more golfers to hit the links this week in Quincy.

Staff at Westview Golf Course said they had 150 golfers Thursday, and expected to see around the same amount Friday.

Westview Assistant Director of Golf, George Schrage, said the course actually ran out out golf carts on Thursday, and their tee times filled up on Friday, so it became first come, first served.

The business was welcome, however, as he said it’s great to have the extra revenue so late in the season.

“You budget for your certain months and certain golf seasons that we’re typically used to. Typically, when the time changes is when our budget numbers start to decline, but now that we have the warm days, and it’s kind of hanging on, it definitely goes towards that bottom line,” Schrage said.

Schrage said Westview will continue to stay open as long as the weather permits.
