QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - The undefeated Hannibal Pirates traveled to Columbia, Missouri earlier today to face the Smithville Warriors in the highly anticipated 2021 Class 4 State Championship Game at Faurot Field. The 11:00 a.m. state title match-up was the first of the day at Memorial Stadium. The Warriors were sporting a perfect (12-0) record entering the game while the Pirates rolled into town with a perfect (13-0) slate. As expected, this battle of unbeatens drew a very large crowd to The University Of Missouri campus to see which team would take home the state crown. The WGEM Sports Team traveled to Columbia as well to check out all the exciting sights and sounds surrounding the championship showdown as well as all the sizzling action on the field. WGEM’s Jake Rongholt was busy patrolling the sidelines throughout the morning as HHS was attempting to become the first team in school history to win a state crown on the prep gridiron.
