Clark County teen killed in hunting accident

CLARK COUNTY, Mo. (WGEM) - A funeral date is set for a Clark County teen who was killed in a hunting accident over the weekend, according to Wilson and Triplett Funeral Home.

The GoFundMe account for Jordan Griffey’s funeral was up to more than $14,000 as of Tuesday night.

He was a freshman at Clark County R-1 High School in Kahoka where services will be held at 5 p.m. on Friday, according to his obituary on the funeral home’s website.

The Clark County coroner said the 14-year-old, from Williamstown, Mo., was hunting alone when the accidental shooting happened on Saturday.

It is believed he was walking when he tripped, fell and the rifle unloaded on him.

Griffey was pronounced dead at the scene.

After an autopsy was done, it was revealed the cause of death was massive blood loss.
