QUINCY (WGEM) - Because of the generous donations from Tri-States residents, the 37th Annual WGEM Bucket Blitz not only reached its goal, but surpassed it by more than $10,000.

Quincy Christmas Campaign Chair Mandar Dighe said $50,483 was raised during the four-day event that took place in both Quincy and Hannibal.

He said the goal was $40,000.

“We did a great job over four days and it’s going to go a really long way to help people throughout the year,“ Dighe said. “So we give you ton of thanks and I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year.”

All of the money raised by the WGEM Bucket Blitz will go toward the Salvation Army Christmas Campaign, which helps fund programs that support the community throughout the year.
