QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - The (2-2) Quincy Notre Dame basketball team has been quietly practicing this week in preparation for their home game on Saturday scheduled against the Pirates of Hannibal High School. Once QND tips off against HHS, the squad will have had a 7 days lay-off since their last contest. That’s due in part because the Raiders game against Macomb, originally scheduled for last Saturday, December 4, was postponed due to health and safety precautions. With the extra practice time, the Raiders coaching staff has been working on helping the squad improve in various areas of their overall game, while also scrimmaging against the JV team, and watching film. Quincy Notre Dame head coach Kevin Meyer feels the extra workout time has been very beneficial for this group of Raiders. We’ll have an update from “The Pit!”

On the Western Big 6 Conference hardwood this evening, the girls basketball team from Quincy High will face an early test when they travel to Galesburg. That’s where the Blue Devils will tip off against the (6-2) Silver Streaks. The “Blue and White” will be in search of their second conference game of the season at GHS. We’ll check in with QHS guard Leah Chavalier for her thoughts on the upcoming challenge, on the road, for the Blue Devils.
