QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - The high school hardwood will be highlighted by a number of very attractive match-up’s on the schedule tonight throughout the Tri-States’. One of the games that will be on the WGEM Sports radar will feature the Mustangs of Unity playing host to Palmyra in both boys and girls action. WGEM’s Brendan Reidy will take a closer look at the boys game set to start at 7:00 p.m. in Mendon as he goes “1-On-1″ with Mustangs head coach Keith Carothers.

The new head football coach at Western Illinois University will be Myers Hendrickson. The proud WIU Alum will be officially introduced on Monday, December 20 during a news conference set for 10:00 a.m. at Western Hall. The former Kansas Wesleyan University head coach is now set to become the 31st head football coach in WIU history.

Four members of the Sheridan Swim Club in Quincy will be in the spotlight this weekend in Texas. That’s where they’re set to compete at the KMSC Pro-Am outside of Dallas. The event is a qualifying times swim meet that will showcase some of the top swimmers from across the country. 13-year-old Caleb Williams from Quincy Jr. High school will be competing in several events along with 14-year-old Weston Reyburn who attends St. Francis. On the ladies side, the SST will be well represented by 13-year-old Abby Lewton, a student at Hannibal Middle School, and 16-year-old Brooklyn Biggs. Biggs is a proud member of the Class of 2023 at Quincy Notre Dame.
