NFL Football

Super Bowl winning coach and legendary broadcaster John Madden died at age 85.

Madden coached the Oakland Raiders for 10 winning seasons and capped it off with a 32-14 win in Super Bowl XI vs the Minnesota Vikings. After he retired, he built an amazing broadcasting career working for four stations. The 15-time Emmy winner partnered with the late Pat Summerall at CBS and FOX. Then teamed up with Al Michaels on ABC and NBC in the booth until 2009.

His last flight was in 1980. For over three decades, he drove coast to coast to every game in the Madden Cruiser bus. He never flew again.

In 1989, another empire broke ground as he created with EA Sports, the Madden NFL video game franchise. A business venture that continues to this day.

A life well-lived. With a final...boom.
