QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) - The Lady Blue Devils of Quincy High were given uplifting news. They will restart their basketball season on Thursday. Starting with a road trip to arch-rival Rock Island. Over a week ago, the team dealt with players testing positive for COVID-19 and strep throat. The W-G-E-M sports cam caught up with a few players on why the situation led to stronger unity among the squad
The Highland 50th Annual Boys and Girls Basketball Tourney was postponed, due to icy road conditions around Lewis County. Highland boys and girls basketball were both confident heading into this tournament. They were both on a three-game winning streak. Other teams included Palmyra, Canton, Clark County, Knox County, Macon, Kirksville, and Scotland County. We spoke to Highland head girls basketball coach Ashton Jaco on how to prepare mentally without practicing on the court.
