QUINCY (WGEM) - The Adams County Sheriff’s Office has released the identity of the man killed in Saturday’s multi-vehicle crash on Illinois Route 104.

Deputies said Joseph W. Strieker, 40, of rural Quincy was pronounced dead at the scene by the Adams County Coroner.

The five-vehicle crash happened just before 5:30 p.m. Saturday on Route 104 between Rock Quarry Rd. and Meyer Rd., also known as Scottie’s Hill due to its close proximity to Scottie’s Fun Spot.

Investigators said three patients were taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy and additional people were treated by the Adams County Ambulance Service and released on scene.

An Illinois State Police crash reconstruction unit worked until almost midnight, but a cause for the crash has not been released.

The crash happened when freezing drizzle was occurring and some roads were slick.
