PARIS, Mo. (WGEM) - Paris R-II schools announced on Thursday through a Facebook post that they will be closing the school on Jan. 14 through Jan. 18 for a deep cleaning and sanitization. This is just one of the many schools in the Tri-States to close due to COVID-19.

This comes after Camp Point Central CUSD No. 3 and Lewis County C-1 announced they would be closing due to COVID-19. St. James Lutheran School in Quincy also closed due to a high number of absences.

The Paris post reports that they are at red level. The students and faculty have been hit heavily by COVID-19, influenza and strep throat.

They plan to return to school on Jan. 19, but are willing to change that as, “this is a fluid situation, we will need to be flexible and realize that our status can change.”
