Blessing Mount Sterling Clinic earns national accreditation
MOUNT STERLING, Ill. (WGEM) - The Blessing Mount. Sterling Clinic announced Thursday it has been accredited as a Certified Rural Health Clinic and granted exemplary provider status by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services partner organization, the Compliance Team.
“While the Blessing Mount Sterling Clinic opened only a short time ago, in November 2021, its uses tried and true processes, proven successful in our other nine rural health clinics, to deliver quality care on a consistent basis,” said Blessing Physician Services Rural Health Director Gina Genenbacher.
To receive Certified Rural Health Clinic status, clinics must be in rural, underserved areas. They are required to use a team approach of physicians working with non-physician providers such as nurse practitioners (NP), physician assistants (PA), to provide services, and are required to provide outpatient primary care services and basic laboratory services.
The Compliance Team is the federally authorized national health care accreditation organization for rural clinics.
