QUINCY (WGEM) -QUINCY (WGEM) -We are tracking a winter storm that will be developing throughout the day on Friday. For the Tri-State area there are winter storm warnings, winter storm watches and winter weather advisories. The main thing that we want to convey to people is, it does not really matter how much snow you get. There will be accumulating snow for the entire region beginning Friday afternoon and continuing through Saturday morning. Road conditions will be hazardous, that is the main thing we would like to convey. Driving conditions will be hazardous throughout the snowstorm. We do expect snow to begin to accumulate across parts of the Tri-State area as early as noon tomorrow. Snow will continue throughout Friday afternoon, at times it will be heavy. Snow then comes to an end Saturday morning.

Snowfall forecast revised to show increase in snow total

The highest totals should be in Scotland county and Clark county in Missouri also Lee county in Iowa in parts of Hancock county in Illinois. Those totals could be as high as 8 inches. Much of the rest of the area will be seeing between 3 to 5 inches or some spots as high as 6 inches. This storm is evolving and there is some guidance that suggests snow totals could be higher. So check back for further updates as the storm gets closer.
