Quincy residents take advantage of good sledding conditions
QUINCY (WGEM) - Over in Quincy’s South Park, you could finding dozens of people breaking out sleds and shuttling down the hills, with a perfect amount of snow to cushion the fall on Saturday.
Children were happy to take advantage of the first snow falling on a Saturday where they were not obstructed from school and parents were glad to have a reason to be out and about, ready for a day filled with snow activities.
Siblings Drew and Nora Struck were out sledding early on Saturday morning.
“We went really fast and switched hills,” Drew said.
His sister said she and the family were up at 8:15 a.m. to get to the park.
They went on to build snowmen and other snow activities for the day.
Multiple families felt the thrill and excitement of going down the twin hills.
Some even had those old-fashioned wooden sleds to try out.
