QUINCY (WGEM) -We are into a rather quiet forecast pattern. Although there is some active weather that mainly glides just to the north of the area. We do see the potential for some light snow across Lee county, Hancock County and McDonough County Saturday night into Sunday morning. The rest of us may just see some flurries if in anything. Then Monday night into Tuesday another shot at some flurries as another storm system again rides just to the north and to the east of the Tri-States. The temperature forecast is a little bit up and down, we bust up above what is normal for a few days in the seven day forecast. Monday’s high temperatures will be running up in the mid to upper 40s. That warm air does not last long. High temperatures on Tuesday drop down into the teens and overnight low temperatures Tuesday into Wednesday down into the single digits again. There is some return to normalcy in the extended outlook. The latter half of next week and into next weekend temperatures appear to level off with daytime high temperatures that are about seasonable for this time of year in the mid to low 30s. We don’t see any major storm systems that will impact the region over the next 10 days and that will take us to the end of January.

Then onto the prognostication of the rodents on Groundhog Day!
