Congressman Davis makes campaign stop in Quincy
QUINCY (WGEM) - The Congressman vying to represent West Central Illinois in the new congress stopped in Quincy Friday night.
Rep. Rodney Davis was the keynote speaker at the annual awards dinner for Kohl Wholesale.
The Republican currently represents the 13th congressional district, but is vying for the new 15th congressional district, which is being redrawn to include his hometown of Taylorville, and West Central Illinois.
“Right here in Quincy is the barometer of how to fix things. Start local. Hire local. Buy local. That’s what matters most, not what happens in Washington or Springfield,” Rep. Davis said.”
Davis is challenging fellow Republican Congresswoman Mary Miller for the 15th district, now that Illinois has lost a congressional district.
The Illinois primary is June 28.
