Woman & child die in Macomb fire

MACOMB, IL (WGEM) - At approximately 8:41 a.m. Friday morning the Macomb Police Department and Macomb Fire Department were dispatched to 1662 E. Wheeler Circle in reference to a structure fire.
When officers arrived, they observed smoke coming from the residence.
According to the Macomb Police Department, firefighters found a woman and an infant unresponsive inside.
The infant was pronounced deceased on scene.
The woman was pronounced deceased at McDonough District Hospital.
The investigation is still on-going.
